We are Jolanda Huisman and the kids Pepita and Thibauld. Long before there were children, Jolanda had already Bassets Griffons Vendéens. She started with a Petit Basset male and a Grand Basset bitch who both came to our home in the beginning of 1978.

Jolanda was already infected by the "Doggyvirus" for her parents bred smoothcoated Bassets Artésiens Normands and Bassets Bleu de Gascogne when she was a small child. She showd her parents dogs with quite some succes. Also at that time the foundation was layed for the knowledge about breeding and therefor we can build on 30 years of breedingexperience. Of course Jolanda attended several special canine educations and got her first diploma when she was only 15 years old. Also she became very active clubmember and was a boardmember twice for several years. One of the other tasks she had was being the head editor of the clubmagazine and taking care of the lay-out of it. Also she was the head editor and compiled the special breed and Information book who was printed to celebrate the 12,5 years anniversary of the club. Since the summer of 2001 Jolanda decided not to be an active member of the club anymore but "just" a serious breeder and lover of the Bassets Griffons Vendéens. We have Bassets Griffons Vendéens since 1978 but our first litter was born in 1981. This was a Grand Basset litter; the first Petit litter however wasn’t born until 1991. Since then we’ve bred Bassets Griffons Vendéens on a regular basis and with extremely good results. Until now we have had 58 Dutch Champions of which 46 are homebred and 17 International Champions. Our dogs can be found in many pedigrees all over the world. In fact all breeders in Holland, England, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Portugal and America have started with our dogs and/or are still breeding with direct descendants from "du Greffier du Roi".

We started our Grand Basset breeding with dogs from the famous kennel "du Roc de Deymier" from Yves Audouy in France. We try to maintain this remarquable type of Grand Basset which is not very easy for mr. Audouy passed away more than 10 years ago. Our forelast Champion CH. Debucher Le Barbu bred in England by our friend mrs. Vivien Phillips. He is a son of Bien Fait du Greffier du Roi and Efficace du Roc de Deymier.
