I'm Jolanda Huisman and ever since 1978 I have Grands and Petits Bassets Griffons Vendéens.

I litterally started with a Petit male and a Grand Basset female. I didn't want to breed at first but just go to shows. We achieved great results with both dogs especially the GBGV Nana. When we went to France the first time to participate at the French National in 1980 we did very well with our Nana. We decided to specialize in the Grand Basset.

We do breed Petits at a very small scale too but with GREAT results. One of the best known is Ch. Garwedd du Greffier du Roi at Tangaer who was top studdog for 5 years in the UK. Many topwinning Petits nowadays go back to him.

From the beginning until now (more than 30 years later) we still are at the top of the Grand Basset world. We won many, many, many titles in several countries (see our list of champions).

Most important is that the French appreciate our dogs. Not just for their original breed type and beauty but also for their hunting qualities. At the French National in 2011 the grandson of Paul Dezamy, Mr. Hubert Desamy saw my dogs and qualified them as the best which was a HUGE compliment.

We are the only kennel being non-french that have several FRENCH Champions which is a dual purpose title and extremely hard to get. We couldn't have done that without our dear friend Fréderic Mayeur who hunts our dogs so well!

Other breeders all over the world appreciate our dogs as well and basicly nearly  everyone ouside France uses our bloodlines.
